Boston Wedding Photographer, Martin Haseman bio picture

About Me

I'm Martin and I'm a big softy. I love my wife more than I could ever have imagined. And my little girl breaks my heart when she looks into my eyes. I just want to hold her tight.

I love meeting people and love making them happy. I get embarrassed easily and get the reddest cheeks ever. When I make a silly voice my eyes water.

I cry at amazing movie moments. Yeah I know I'm not supposed to admit that.

I was born and raised in England and still have the accent. I've lived in London, Barcelona, Paris, Normandy, Palo Alto, San Mateo, San Francisco, Boston and New Hampshire. I've moved a lot but I'm pretty much done.

I don't know anyone famous but I've met quite a few. I have some funny stories and maybe I'll share some with you.

New York City Engagement Photos: Bee and Justin

It was a hot, hot day in New York City. Did I say it was hot?

Bee and Justin are getting married in September and I’ll have the pleasure of photographing their wedding in a gorgeous renovated barn on an amazing estate property… I can’t wait! We decided to do their engagement shoot in and around their neighborhood, kicking things off in the bar called ‘Toad Hall’ where they had one of their first dates.

We had a great afternoon and made the most of the beautiful day, even though it was stifling hot. Congrats Bee and Justin. I’m looking forward to your wedding very much!

(A big thanks to John Gerraughty for assisting in New York!)

Boston Wedding Photos: Amy and Steve

Amy and Steve were married recently and what a fantastic party it was. I am proud to say that I’m starting to get to know the family pretty well. I photographed Amy’s step-sister’s wedding last year and was lucky enough to be invited to photograph Amy’s wedding too.

It was a gorgeous day from the beginning to the end. Amy and Steve are very much in love and have a fabulous group of friends who partied the night away with them. From the minute the DJ started playing dance music, I don’t think either Amy or Steve sat down once. They extended the party a little later until the venue closed down for the night. It was a great night and I was proud to be invited along.

Congratulations to Amy and Steve! And thanks to Sheryl Lanzel for being second shooter for the day.

New York City Engagement Photos: Bora and Justin

I am still working through a backlog of weddings and sessions but wanted to share an image from Bora and Justin’s recent engagement session.

Bora and Justin are getting married in Upstate New York in September. Although my main focus is weddings in the Boston area, I shoot regularly in New York and I’m excited to work with Bora and Justin for their wedding. I was pleased to visit New York City and walk around some of their local haunts.

I shot this image using the Brenizer technique (thanks Ryan!) stitching together over 40 images to make a bokeh panorama. I am still perfecting the technique and am having a lot of fun with it. The rest of the session will be posted soon. Enjoy!

Boston Wedding Photographer Martin Haseman shoots weddings throughout the New England region. The 2011 wedding season is booking quickly so please contact me soon to find out more about pricing and options and to check availability.

Boston Engagement Photos: Lee and Patrick

I love discovering new places in Boston. Lee and Patrick recently invited me to their South Boston house in the cutest neighborhood, right next door to a community garden. There was so much energy, color and pleasant surprises around each corner. We visited the church where they are getting married and wandered across the street to have drinks in one of their favorite restaurants. It was a warm and sticky day but Lee and Patrick still enjoyed being as close to each other as possible for the whole engagement shoot. I’m very much looking forward to seeing them again and meeting their friends and family at their wedding in a few weeks time. Congrats Lee and Patrick!

Akosua and Johnny Engaged

From the first moment I met Akosua and Johnny in a coffee house in Boston, it was very obvious that they were head over heels in love. Their first wedding is in a couple of weeks time in Ghana. It’ll be a week-long celebration filled with festivities, family and local customs. Then in August they are getting married here in the Boston area. I just know it’s going to be a really special day.

Last month we spent a few hours at the gorgeous location where they are having their local wedding. Here are a few of the shots we took, including some in the cottage where they’ll be spending their wedding night. Congratulations Akosua and Johnny. I can’t wait for the wedding!

Courtney and Tony are Married

No prizes for figuring out I am buried with work! But I am finally getting caught up with 2010 weddings and other shoots and I will be blogging like a madman over the next couple of weeks.

Kicking things off… Courtney and Tony’s wedding was gorgeous. They picked an amazing location on the Cape and had the ceremony and reception at the Red Jacket Beach Resort in South Yarmouth. I stayed for the weekend and made the most of the beautiful weather.

The whole day was full of warmth and wonderful emotions and it was fabulous to see the families coming together surrounded by great friends. Everyone had a brilliant time and after knowing Courtney and Tony for some time now (you can see their engagement shoot pictures here), I am so very happy for them and wish them all the best for the future.

Scroll down to see some of my favorite pictures from the wedding day, and watch their sneak peek slideshow for some other shots.

Courtney and Tony opted to do a 'first look' earlier in the day. It was great for them to get to see each other and hang out for a short while before the guests arrived.

Amy and Steve are Married

A quick pick from Amy and Steve’s wonderful wedding on Sunday. I am still going through all the pictures and haven’t even got to the reception yet! Congrats Amy and Steve!

Courtney and Tony are Married

Wedding season is in full swing. Here’s a shot from Courtney and Tony’s wedding on May 15th. More to come within a few days. Congrats Courtney and Tony!

Mai and Winston are Married: Preview

I kicked off a busy 2010 season on Saturday with Mai and Winston’s wedding in West Roxbury, MA. Mai and Winston met in Japan and now live here in the Boston area. They were surrounded by friends and family for their intimate wedding at the beautiful Church of the Holy Name. Afterwards we drove to the Arnold Arboretum for some pictures of the newlyweds.

Matthew Lomanno did a very professional job as second shooter and I’m looking forward to working together several times this year. Matthew has been shooting weddings for a few years and does a wonderful job. A couple of these preview shots were his as noted. Thanks for your help, Matthew!

Mai and Winston were a wonderful couple to work with and I wish them all the best in their new life together. Congratulations!

Mai's parents were visiting from Japan. Mai's mother wore a beautiful traditional outfit.

This is one of my favorite images of the day. Mai's parents didn't take their eyes off Mai for the whole time before the wedding. Here her Mother watched Mai from one side of the hallway and her Father guarded her to her right side. Mai was staring at her Mom as I caught this moment.

Corinne and Andrew: Engaged

Wow the weather last week and into the weekend was awesome! I have to keep remembering that it’s only March and we could still get snow for another month or so.

Saturday was amazing though. It was so nice to feel temps in the 70’s again. Luckily for Corinne and Andrew, we reserved Saturday for their engagement shoot. We chose Cambridge, MA as the location and spent the afternoon around the MIT campus and along the Charles River. It was a spectacular day and people were out in droves. We also snuck into to the incredible chapel at MIT and made a few very dramatic, abstract images.

Corinne and Andrew are a great couple and I’m looking forward to their September wedding at the Mile Away Restaurant in Milford, NH. The Mile Away a special place for me as that’s where my own wedding was held almost five years ago. Congratulations Corinne and Andrew. I can’t wait for your big day!
